Selection Process and Timeframes

Following the application close date, all applications will be received by the relevant supervisor and reviewed for short listing purposes. If successful in securing an interview, applicants should expect to hear from the supervisor who will arrange this, generally within a few weeks following the application close date. Interviews, reference checking and any other skills tests are then conducted. All candidates will be notified in writing/email to acknowledge receipt of their application and also to inform them of the outcome of their application at the end of the recruitment process.

The Interview:

Applicants should expect to be interviewed by two or three people from the organisation. It will generally be two representatives from the relevant department and a member of the Human Resources team or an independent staff member. Interviews usually last for approximately 45 minutes to an hour and will draw on varying interviewing techniques.

Proof of Qualifications:

All offers of employment will be conditional on the successful applicant providing original or certified copies of all relevant qualifications. A photocopy of these qualifications will be made and kept on the employee's personnel file.

Police Checks:

Applicants will be required to undergo a Police Check prior to commencement of their position.

Pre-employment Medical/Pre-existing illnesses:

Applicants may be asked to undergo a medical assessment that will relate to skills required within the relevant position. All new employees will be required to complete a pre-existing injury declaration form.

Probationary Period:

New employees of the Karingal Inc. will be required to complete a six month probationary period before being confirmed as a permanent employee of Karingal Inc.
